How to prepare for a Security Operations center (SOC) job?

To prepare for a SOC Job, a candidate must have :

1. Good understanding of Networking Fundamentals

2. Basic Knowledge of different Operating Systems such as Windows, Linux/Ubuntu.

3. Understanding of network defense principles, common attack vectors, and attacker techniques

4. Hands on Experience on any of the popular SIEM Tools with a Home Lab setup.

5. Good Drafting skills, communication skills.

6. Knowledge of OSI layers and associated protocols

7. Knowledge of Networking and associated protocols

8. Knowledge of OSI Reference Models

9. Basic Knowledge of Digital Forensics
